Scope of the School
The School is dedicated to Electronic Properties of Solids.

The essential goal of the School is to give an opportunity to young scientists (undergraduate and PhD students) to learn about important problems in condensed matter physics on a highly tutorial level, often starting from very basic ideas. The second important goal is to offer a place for scientists from East and West to meet one another.

Permanent poster session will be arranged with a goal to allow for presentation of the achievements of PhD students.

Location
International Schools of Condensed Matter Physics till 1997 were traditionally held in Bialowieza, Poland. Since 1998 the Schools were organized in Suprasl. We will return to roots now, and School 2003, which is 15th in the row, will be held in Bialowieza, the place where the Schools originated and developed. The small village Bialowieza lies in the woods called Puszcza Bialowieska, 100 km East from Bialystok. The accommodation in Bialowieski hotel consists of double-bed rooms. All rooms are equipped with a shower. Local bus provides service from Bialowieza to Bialystok, a town of 300 thousands in habitants.

Language
The official language of School is English.
By clicking here: Provisional Programme you will find list of lectures and the preliminary "time-table" of the School. The latter may change if special requirements from our lecturers appear. The main idea in constructing the program was to offer as much time for free discussions as possible. Such discussions are always needed for better perception of the lectures which will take place before lunch and around the dinner-time.

Although the School consists mainly of the short courses given by the invited teachers, there is a small room on 1/2 hour oral presentations delivered by other participants. However, young scientist, PhD students, can present theirs achievements during permanent poster session only. The poster dimensions shouldn't exceed [1.5m x 1.5m]. However if you need more space, let us know about it as quickly as possible and we shall do our best to satisfy your needs. Current information about the authors and titles of posters to be presented are listed on this Website on the page PROGRAMME.
