  How to reach Bialowieza:


By train from Warsaw to Bialystok
(Polish Railway - PKP)


By regular local bus No. 175 from the airport to Warsaw railway station:

Ticket costs about 2.80 PLZ (0.6 EUR) and is available from any kiosk or any magazine or tobacco stand at the airport. You have to buy two tickets, one for yourself and a second one for your luggage.

By car from Warsaw to Bialystok:

From Warsaw to Bialystok (190 km) - follow route No 8.

Warsaw to Bialystok

Then, in Bialystok take road No. 19 (Bialystok - Lublin) and exit in Bielsk Podlaski in the direction of Hajnowka/ Bialowieza. After arriving in Bialowieza village follow its main road (in the direction of the Post Office); next turn right and go almost to the end of the village where you make another turn to the right. Secure parking (free of charge) is available at the "Bialowieski" Hotel.





On July 21st, 2005 (Tuesday), at 15:30 the school's bus services will take participants to Bialowieza.The bus will leave from the Institute of Experimental Physics, University of Bialystok, ul. Lipowa 41.

You may also come to Bialowieza by local bus from the bus station PKS Bialystok (situated next to the railway station), see below.

  • If you need a hotel reservation, please let us know the dates of your arrival and departure before June 1st, 2005.
  • In case of problems with arranging your travel to Bialowieza, please contact us before June 1st, 2005.




How to get away from Bialowieza:

On June 29th, 2005, about 15:00 we will organize transport for all participants from Bialowieza to Bialystok by the School's bus service.

Alternatively, you may usethe regular local bus from Bialowieza to Bialystok bus and railway stations.
